Subject: Call for American Society of Nepalese Engineers (ASNEngr) Merit Awards for Students and Graduate Student Research Fellowship (GSRF) applications for the admission year 2020
Dear University Official,
The American Society of Nepalese Engineers (ASNEngr) has awarded several Merit Awards for Students with higher academic achievements in the entrance examinations of engineering programs at universities in Nepal since the year 2013. The society has increased that amount to $500 per student since the year 2019. The Board of Directors of the American Society of Nepalese Engineers has approved new guidelines for Merit Awards for Students in 2021. The new guidelines are as follows:
- The applicant must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) program in an accredited engineering/science college or university in Nepal and should be in his/her freshman (1st) year of study.
- The applicant must be an individual of Nepalese origin/descent/heritage and submit a copy of a certified document reflecting that. The document may include Nepalese citizenship, birth certificate, or Nepali passport (photo page) of themselves or their parents.
- The applicant must have achieved a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher in S.E.E. and H.S.E.B. or an equivalent high-school program.
The American Society of Nepalese Engineers also established Graduate Student Research Fellowship (GSRF) program in March 2017. The amount of the fellowship is $1000. For detailed information about these awards, please see the attached link:
We request you kindly to advise your eligible students of your UNIVERSITY (including affiliate colleges) to complete the application package and send us with the supporting documents for the merit award. We also request you to advise the eligible and interested graduate students to apply for the GSRF with the supporting documents.
Please note that Aug 25, 2021 is the deadline to submit the application packages for Merit Awards for Students as well as GSRF with all supporting documents. We encourage all eligible applicants to act immediately so that we can make decisions for the ASNEngr 2020 Merit award and GSRF award without much delay.
